problem bridgeport ez-trak sx. ez track sx problem: started out as loss of display. Hooked up dell monitor, O.K for a while. machine would shut down by it's self, and not boot up sometimes. Checked power supply getting approx 3v on 5v output. replaced power supply-Did not help. Moved video board to different slot -did not help.

Re: Ez Trak booting problems. Sounds like something got loosened .. maybe during shipping. You have a standard 486 computer, the only thing different is the BMDC card. More then SVGA plug is loose. Get a standard Flat-screen and plug it in ... if that fails to solve the problem then go to the card itself.

I have a Bridgeport Series 1 EZ Trak machine with Z Axis upgrade. The old control boards are getting long in the tooth and it doesn't always like to boot up. Based on that I figure it is time for an Upgrade to allow it to run off Mach 3 or similiar. I say Mach 3 as that is what I have running the CNC Plasma. So not knowing much about.

Nov 2004. Posts. 3028. I remember playing with the fact that some versions of the EZTRAK software had engraving. It may have been version 7beta. Cumbersome with the smaller keyboard but the last few I installed had the color flat screen Computer Express control and a full size keyboard that worked a lot better. George.

I do have a Z axis problem ( RED LED ON all the TIME) with Bridgeport running EZ TRAK software. The problem has been identified to the Driver Board amplifier. Re: Bridgeport EZ trak. Alarm is axis drive fault. If you get an axis drive fault when you attempt to home, something is wrong with the first commanded move. The move is commanded but not made. In a 3 axis machine, the Z would be the problem. A simple trouble shooting would be to switch two of the axis drive units.

3028. Watch the CRT as the machine boots. The BMDC should not count down to Zero. If it does, it is not loading correctly. The other possibility is that the software is not meant for that version of the BMDC. There are a bunch of parameters that load and it all must match. I am assuming the DOM and software may have come from EMI-inc.

Re: Bridgeport EZ-Trak DX 2-Axis Gcode Pause. A 2 axis Trak should automatically pause and prompt the operator to move Z-axis to the desired programmed position. The Z location must specified in the G-code line. Any change in Z will cause an automatic stop till Start Button pressed. The actual Z-axis position does not matter.
